Total pushes forward with Wardley warehouse

Cheshire-based Total Developments has completed the freehold acquisition of a 2.8-acre industrial site on Wardley Industrial Estate, Manchester, which it plans to use to build a 52,000 sq ft warehouse.

The site on Holloway Drive was acquired from Friends Life Insurance through AXA Investment Managers for an undisclosed sum.

The planning application has already been submitted and development is expected to begin when permission is granted. The build contract has been awarded to Pioneer Design & Build.

Ed Chantler, director at Total Developments, said: “Holloway Drive represents our fourth speculative development scheme in the last 12 months. We are going to progress with this development despite the recent news of Brexit as we are still seeing strong tenant demand for good locations.”

Savills and Davies Harrison are joint agents. The architect is C4 Consulting.

Davies Harrison acted on behalf of AXA Investment Managers.
