Total buys for Orion Park expansion

Cheshire-based Total Developments has bought a 13-acre site in Crewe from Hawkstone Properties for more than £2.5m, and has earmarked the plot for 160,000 sq ft of distribution warehouses.

The new acquisition on University Way provides expansion space for the neighbouring Orion Park, which is also owned by Total. The first two phases at Orion have been let and sold, and Total is nearing completion on a 55,000 sq ft final phase.

The company said it would extend onto University Way and start construction on a speculative basis to bring the employment space to market. Total is currently working up a planning application.

Stephen Wade, director at Legat Owen, adviser to the vendor, said: “The site at University Way is one of the best development opportunities available in South Cheshire and so it was no surprise that it attracted strong demand.”

Legat Owen has been retained as sole agent to market the scheme for Total Developments.

Total Developments was unrepresented in the acquisition.
