Toolbank buys Widnes site in £3.5m deal

The tool distributor has bought the 35,000 sq ft building on Gorsey Lane from developer Seybourne in a deal with in excess of £3.5m.

The company is relocating from Stretton in Warrington to the two-acre plot, named Duo, and formerly known as Easter Park, where it will occupy the Hale Architects-designed building. Marbank acted as main contractor.

The site has potential for a further 50,000 sq ft of industrial space, split between either one or two units on a design-and-build basis.

LM6 acted for Seybourne, while Toolbank was represented by Blue Tile Property Consultants.

Phil Morley of LM6 said: “The company was drawn to Widnes as it is a fantastic location from which to operate, with easy access to the north west’s motorway network. It is the perfect location for a rapidly growing distribution company such as Toolbank and they have been able to design a building which exactly suits their requirements.”

Morley added LM6 was “actively dealing with further enquiries for the remaining space”.
