THT joint venture starts Delamere project

The joint venture between Trafford Housing Trust and L&Q Developments have started work on a second housing scheme, close to Delamere Forest in Cheshire.

The project will be delivered under THT’s Laurus Homes brand, and follows the JVs first outing, the Spinning Gate project in Davyhulme, which started onsite in April.

Contractor Lane End Developments Construction is to build the scheme, which will bring 166 houses to a brownfield site. Known as Station Road, the scheme has been designed by PRP Architects.

Two-bedroom houses account for 45 houses with the rest ranging from three- to five-bedroom – 30% of the stock is allocated as affordable housing on a shared ownership or rental basis.

L&Q grew out of London & Quadrant Housing Trust, which since the 1960s has grown to own and manage more than 90,000 homes across London and the South East.

The JV aims to build 2,000 mixed tenure new homes over the next four years across the North West.
