The Venue launched in Oldham

A new £1.2m hotel and leisure exhibition centre has been officially opened in Oldham, Greater Manchester.

Chef Andrew Nutter, who has appeared on television programmes such as Ready Steady Cook, and radio personality Ted Robbins, joined owner and managing director Neil Guest to officially open the centre, known as The Venue.

It has taken just over 12 months to develop the 5,000 sq ft building which has been designed with an aim at meeting the needs of the hotel and leisure industry.

Products available for interior design specialists and architects are stocked in the centre.

Speaking about the concept, Neil Guest said: "We have built what we believe to be the UK's largest regional resource centre for the hospitality and leisure industry. It enables everyone from architects and designers through to business owners and hotel specifiers to source the very best products and services all under one roof."

The Venue, located on Albert Street in Holinwood, Oldham, features 'live working areas' inside which includes a cocktail bar with a champagne area.

The Venue also has its own guild of architects and designers including In 2 Design, CN Design, Architect CT and GB Associates.

Dawnvale constructed the building and Guest is also the managing director of that company.
