TGI Friday’s takes space at Middlebrook

Orbit Developments has added a restaurant to the line-up at Middlebrook Retail Park in Bolton, as chain TGI Friday’s takes over a 10,500 sq ft unit previously occupied by Next.

TGI Friday’s has agreed a fifteen-year lease on the space, while Next has relocated to a £12m superstore site at the entrance to the retail park.

The restaurant plans to open in early 2019, creating 80 new jobs.

Mark Hanna, senior retail leasing surveyor at Orbit Developments, said: “Middlebrook Retail & Leisure Park is one of the most popular out of town retail destinations in the UK and we’re always working to include new brands in an effort to enhance the line-up and drive footfall.

“We’re very pleased that Middlebrook continues to attract such strong operators which we know will be popular with shoppers on our scheme.”

The news comes as The Card Factory and Thomas Cook have both announced plans to open stores at the retail development this month, leaving two available units at the park.
