TENDER OPPORTUNITY: All Change for Crewe: Delivery Executive
ADVERTISEMENT: Cheshire East Council and its partners have set out an ambitious vision, known as All Change for Crewe, for the regeneration and economic growth of Crewe over the next 20 years.
Our ambitious work programme includes the delivery of a new Rail Gateway, Basford Employment Sites, redevelopment of the Town Centre, and new urban extensions aimed at substantial population growth. We recognise that assertive leadership will be needed to propel the vision into delivery and that we will need to engage the skills and expertise of the private sector to deliver our growth ambitions. We therefore wish to appoint a commercially minded Delivery Executive which will have responsibility for leading on strategic delivery of the programme.
There is no fixed view on the legal form of the Executive, but it will comprise a key individual figurehead who will be visible as the lead for this work. Cheshire East Council will provide initial funding of up to £65,000 per year for the first two years. The Executive will be responsible for creating a sustainable business model for an expanded role in the longer-term which will draw in further funding from the wide range of local public and private sector partners.
Any party wishing to express interest in the Delivery Executive role is required to complete a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire to help us determine suitability to respond to a consequent tendering exercise.
Key attributes we consider important include:
- Previous track record of delivering investment and physical regeneration outcomes through the commercial and public sector.
- Energy, commitment and desire to achieving positive change and the long-term prosperity of the Crewe area.
- First class networks within the public and private sector both locally and nationally.
- Understanding and experience of establishing innovative and sustainable delivery vehicles for regeneration.
