Taylor Young wins Langtree brief

Architects and urban designers Taylor Young have been appointed by developer Langtree to masterplan four sites in Hollinwood, Oldham.

Taylor Young are joined by agents WHR Property Consultants and Colliers International and marketing company Run Creative on the project to devise a mixture of uses and raise the profile of sites that total 20 acres. The development areas incloude the former mill site in Albert Street, Roman Road and Mersey Road North, and a site in Pump Street. The largest of the sites, at Roman Road, measures 10.6 acres, while the three remaining sites together account for just under a further 10 acres.

Langtree will market Hollinwood as an extension to Manchester city centre, served by a new Metrolink tram line. John Downes, managing director of Langtree, said: "We are committed to regenerating Hollinwood and creating a significant investment site that will transform the social and economic fortunes of the area.

"We're looking forward to evolving our plans for the site and delivering a very desirable scheme that we believe will be of significant interest to the market."

Langtree signed a development agreement with Oldham Council in June.
