Take-up drives business park expansion plan in Preston

Commercial property consultant Robert Pinkus & Co has secured five new tenants on Red Scar Business Park in Preston, on behalf of landlord Tustin Developments.

In total, 14,000 sq ft has been let across the park. Tustin said it is in talks with occupiers to take space in its planned 27,500 sq ft expansion of the park, due to complete in autumn this year.

A22 Red Scar, a single-storey office at 1,200 sq ft, has been let to Silver Mushroom, an online retailer selling fine cookware and quality branded kitchenware on a three-year lease.

Newline Communications has taken unit A71, a 1,343 sq ft business unit with a small office and ample parking on a new three-year lease.

A single-storey, 5,253 sq ft industrial unit with boardroom facilities has been taken by Framing & Manufacturing Supplies on a five-year lease.

Hallis Hudson has signed to 6,000 sq ft premises at C32 Red Scar for five years, while unit C44 Fulwell Court, part of the newest development on site, has been let to Emerald Stripe, trading as Green Thumb, for five years.

Robert Pinkus & Co is joint local agent, with Bailey Deakin & Hamiltons and HDAK.

Danny Pinkus, partner at Robert Pinkus & Co said: “The popularity of units in the East Preston area continues and the quality and number of enquiries we receive for the available space at Red Scar Business Park remains high. It is a vibrant employment area for the surrounding community and continues to attract new businesses to the area because of its competitive rents, good quality business units and strategic positioning close to the 31a M6 junction.”

Richard Hargreaves, commercial property manager at Tustin Developments, the owners of Red Scar Business Park, added “The level of take up over recent months reinforces our decision, taken last year, to obtain planning consent and press ahead with further speculative new build business space in creating Ribble Court. We are already in advanced negotiations with several potential occupiers even though completion is not anticipated until the early autumn. Units adjoining an attractive wooded landscape and with a newly created large pond will be available from 1,000 sq ft up to 8,000 sq ft.”
