Sutton Kersh’s 2013 auction sales touch £40m

The Liverpool auction house sold 71 of the 94 lots offered at its final property auction of the year, generating proceeds in excess of £4.7m.

Buyers turned out in large numbers for the sale at the Liverpool City Centre Marriott Hotel and competitive bidding helped many lots exceed their advertised guide prices.

The best performing lot of the day was Hollystead House, a detached grade 2-listed period property in Wavertree which sold for £397,000, off a guide of £350,000 plus.

A mixed-use investment in Smithdown Road Liverpool, which is part-let to Subway Realty at an annual rent of £14,000, sold for £361,500. The guide price was £335,000 plus.

Elsewhere, a three-storey five-bedroom end terrace house in Sheil Road, L6, offered on behalf of a housing association at £35,000 to £40,000, sold for £69,500.

At the seven sales held between February and December 600 lots were sold, generating total proceeds of close to £40m.

Sutton Kersh is now inviting instructions for its first auction of 2014 which is due to take place on 12 February. The catalogue will close on 15 January.
