Surveyor launches auction arm with Pugh & Co hire

Manchester-based Landwood Group has announced plans to launch a UK-wide auction division, and is due to host a series of sales of commercial, industrial and residential properties in the coming months.

The first sale under the Landwood Property Auctions brand is scheduled to take place on 19 April at the AJ Bell Stadium in Salford, with further sales in June, July, September, October and December.

According to Landwood Group, the auction business will also hold regular online sales, with the first set to take place on 28 February. The online auctions will allow the firm more flexibility in its auction delivery and hold “bespoke auctions for clients at any point, or on single properties”.

The surveyor has appointed James Ashworth as director of the new venture. Ashworth joined in December from auctioneer Pugh & Co and has 25 years’ experience working in the property auction industry.

Ashworth said: “We aim to have our first auction in spring 2018 and plans are well advanced. What sets us apart is that we will be able to genuinely deliver a very personal service, giving clients instant access to impartial, straightforward and clear advice.

“We will constantly develop innovative ways of delivering auction services that fit with modern, ever-changing client and buyer requirements.”

Established in 2008 by Mark Bailey and Richard Parkinson, Landwood Group has five offices across the UK, including London, Leeds, Liverpool, Birmingham and Manchester.
