Success for Seddon in South Ribble

A total of 68 homes on 4.7 acres in Penwortham have been given unanimous approval by the local council.

South Ribble Council has granted Seddon Homes permission for a mix of one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom houses and apartments off Belle Field Close, to the rear of Moor Hey School.

The housing mix:

  • Eight one-bedroom affordable apartments
  • Four two-bedroom affordable apartments
  • 27 three-bedroom houses, including seven affordable properties
  • 24 four-bedroom houses.

The affordable homes would comprise a mix of socially rented properties and homes available on shared ownership.

The surrounding area has been redeveloped into housing by volume housebuilders Jones Homes, Redrow and Morris Homes.

Seddon’s scheme would provide “a natural and logical extension to the existing built form and urban grain”, according to a planning statement by consultant Pinnacle Planning.

Woodcroft Design is leading on design.
