Strutt & Parker appoints new head of planning

Tamsin Cottle has joined the estate agent's Chester office from Roger Tym & Partners.

Cottle has more than 16 years' professional planning experience, both in the public and private sector.

Prior to working with developers, retailers and house builders at Roger Tym & Partners, Cottle worked in property teams at two law firms, and for a commercial agency. She spent her first five years in local government.

Cottle is looking to further develop the planning consultancy role of the team at Chester whilst supporting existing clients, which include a number of large rural estates, as well as individual landowners and developers.

Advising clients on a range of planning and development matters, Cottle has appeared at a number of public inquiries as an expert witness.

Cottle said: "I am very much looking forward to building on the current strengths of the planning team whilst using my background of commercial and major residential development to increase our client portfolio.

"The planning system is currently in a process of change and this is a good time to capitalise on opportunities for progressing applications and making development happen."
