Story Homes wins Blackburn consent

The Cumbrian housebuilder has secured planning permission from Blackburn with Darwen Council for 205 houses at Gib Lane in Blackburn.

The development, to be named The Sycamores, includes a mix of three, four and five-bedroom detached and semi-detached homes. Story said that the New Homes Bonus of £304,133 per annum will be reinvested in local services over a six-year period.

Siobhan Sweeney, development planner for Story Homes, said: “We are excited about the prospect of bringing forward our first development in Blackburn.

“The scheme has been extremely well thought-out and will complement the existing character of the area. The development will also provide open space for the use of the whole community and provide local contractors with opportunities for work.”

As part of the development, the existing footpath on Gib Lane will be extended to the meet the site and an internal footpath created up to Broken Stone Road.
