Story adds 195 homes at Preston’s D’Urton Manor

The housebuilder has submitted plans for the second phase of its D’Urton Manor development in Fulwood, Preston, bringing the total of homes at the site up to 329.

Story first put forward plans for 300 homes on the site in February 2016 and has delivered the first phase of 134 properties after agreeing a deal with the Homes & Communities Agency, now Homes England.

A planning application has now been put forward for a second phase of 195 homes, bringing the total up to 329.

Of these, 45 are designated for affordable tenures with the remainder for private sale. The site is allocated for housing development under the Preston, South Ribble, and Lancashire City Deal, agreed in 2013. A planning decision is expected by the end of 2019.

The area is also set to see a retail development, including a supermarket, retail units, and a pub.  This secured consent in April this year.

Story Homes land manager Martin Nugent said: “The development will also provide public open space including a children’s play area, a care facility, enhanced ecological habitat areas and a much-needed new link road between Eastway and D’Urton Lane. It is situated in a great location on the edge of the city and close to the M6 and M55 so is perfect for commuting.”
