Stockport firm completes Liverpool One cinema

The fit-out of the 14-screen Odeon cinema complex, located within Grosvenor's £1bn Liverpool One scheme in Liverpool city centre, has been completed by Multibuild.

The Stockport-based firm finished the £6m project within 38 weeks, which was handed over in time for the official opening of phase two of the £1bn scheme at the start of October.

Last month, Multibuild also landed a £6.8m contract to build a new 169-bedroom Premier Inn hotel near to Manchester Airport.

Grosvenor also revealed only a handful of the 175 units that make up the 1.6m sq ft of retail and leisure space at Liverpool One now remain unlet.

Following the official opening of phase two of the Liverpool One scheme, the restaurant and leisure offer, another 30 stores and restaurants are due open before 2009.

The remaining residential and Hilton hotel elements around the fringe of the development area will open early next year.

Liverpool One's agents are Cushman & Wakefield, Strutt & Parker, and Tushingham Moore. DTZ advises the Grosvenor Liverpool Fund.
