Stockport council opens serviced office contest

Stockport council is to hold a consultation event with serviced office providers as it prepares to put the contract for its three managed workspace buildings out to market.

The council offers affordable office space for small firms in Merchants House and Mansion House Chambers, both in the town centre, and Houldsworth Mill in Reddish.

The contract to run the centres has been handled by local agents Workspace Centres since 2000, but expires in August 2010.

Workspace Centres is planning to bid to renew the contract, which is expected to attract competition from numerous contenders given the current focus on public sector clients.

At the event, on 18 June at the Town Hall, the council will provide an overview of the portfolio and discuss the pre-qualifying questionnaire with interested parties.
