Stobart gains £110m contract with Nestlé

Eddie Stobart has signed a ten-year contract to provide warehousing facilities to Nestlé UK worth around £110m.

The firm, part of the Warrington-based Stobart Group, a transport and logistics provider, said the contract will incorporate the seasonal and export confectionery business alongside its existing distribution operation at Bardon.

Andrew Tinkler, chief executive of Stobart Group, said: "I am delighted that we have been able to build on our existing relationship with Nestlé by securing this major long-term contract. Our warehousing division already occupies in excess of 6m sq ft of state-of-the-art facilities throughout the UK, and this contract illustrates the way in which we can offer value-added distribution activities to major customers."

Stobart already undertakes some road transport operations for Nestlé and this warehousing contract brings another element of its multimodal offering.
