Steam Packet House refurbishment sails on

Redbridge Interiors has completed the first stage of the refurbishment of the office building on Cross Street, Manchester.

The £500,000 project is halfway through its 15-week upgrade programme with refurbishment of four floors and WCs now complete and handed over to the client, Ribot Investments, the property trust fund of Manchester bookmaker Fred Done.

Work is now set to start on the building's entrance foyer and remaining common parts. The 1910 building's original use was as the headquarters of the Steam Packet Company. The new foyer design includes black and white floor tiles, a chandelier, a palette of claret and aubergine, and an original piece of wall art as the centrepiece.

Redbridge's managing director, Martin Bridge, said: "It has been a real privilege to work on this project for Ribot Investments. Not only is it a fantastic high profile period property, but the opportunity to work for such a passionate fellow United supporter, Fred Done, makes the job even more enjoyable!

"It has been a challenging project as it demanded we work around the building's existing tenants in order to keep disruption to a minimum and with safety a priority. The feedback we have had thus far from Linder Myers Solicitors, who is an existing tenant occupying two floors and have been resident whilst all of the communal works have been undertaken, has been exceptional."

The project is due for completion by the end of the year. Joint letting agents are Edwards & Co and OBI Property.
