Stadium confirms M&S deal for Widnes

Yorkshire retail specialist Stadium Developments has signed Marks & Spencer to anchor its long-awaited shopping centre in Widnes.

M&S will take a 45,000 sq ft store selling fashion, food, homeware and a cafe, at the 120,000 sq ft centre. The anchor joins existing pre-lets Next, New Look, Boots, Outfit, Birthdays and Peacocks.

The centre will replace the former Windmill Centre site in Gerrard Street and was originally due to open next year but is now scheduled to start trading in 2010. Work has started to demolish buildings ahead of construction.

Agents for Stadium are Anderson Harkins.
