St Modwen appoints head of Blackburn Innovation Centre

St Modwen has hired a regional manager from serviced office operator Regus to run its Blackburn Innovation Centre.

Dawn Rogers will manage the 30,000 sq ft centre, which forms the first phase of the 223,000 sq ft Evolution Park aimed at medical, science and knowledge-based businesses.

When it opens in August, the innovation centre will provide suites from 200 sq ft to 1,500 sq ft, with support and meeting facilities for existing and start-up businesses on flexible terms. St Modwen has consent for an additional 16,000 sq ft building to be added alongside if expansion is required.

Rogers spent eight years as an area sales manager with Regus and recently managed two of their Manchester sites with full commercial responsibility.

She said: "I have been brought on board at an early stage by St Modwen so that the centre can hit the ground running when it is completed. I am already establishing links with the University of Central Lancashire, the NHS and other business intermediaries so that we have businesses waiting to move in when the building is handed over."
