St Helens seeks contractors for £25m schools work

St Helens council is looking to form a partnering framework agreement with contractors for its £25m primary school capital projects programme for the next four years.

The council said the works include rebuilding or refurbishing primary schools in the borough, subject to funding.

The initial phase of work is estimated at £6.6m and affects approximately 16 schools. The framework agreement will be for two years with the intention to extend by 12 months.

Contracts will be awarded in two bands: one from £100,000 to £500,000, the second from £500,000 to £1.5m.

The deadline for submitting tenders is 16 January 2009.
