Speke office to become hotel

JD Estates has lodged a planning application with Liverpool City Council to redevelop a vacant office building in Speke into a budget hotel.

The current property is a predominantly vacant office building in Goodlass Road. Approval of plans would see the property converted into a 39-bedroom bed & breakfast budget hotel, with conference space and a function room.

The area surrounding the property is a mix of retail and commercial buildings. The planning report said that the conversion would provide "an appropriate mix of uses within the area, and at the same time as the property is in an established industrial estate area it will not form or cause any unnecessary nuisance."

JD Estates is a Liverpool-based privately owned property development and lettings business.

Dave Scanlon is the architectural, building surveying and building control consultant on the scheme.
