Specsavers confirms Merseyway move
Specsavers has signed a ten-year lease on a 2,500 sq ft store in Merseyway shopping centre in Stockport, paying £110,000 a year.
The store will trade over two floors, with 2,391 sq ft on ground and 2,131 sq ft on first. The Specsavers store will be the third national optometrist to open at Merseyway.
The deal leaves seven remaining units to let out of a total of 104 at Merseyway, with four of these vacant units either in solicitor's hands or under negotiation.
Mark Rawstron, senior director at GVA, managing agents on Merseyway, said: "This news has long been anticipated so it's great that we are finally able to announce it.
"Specsavers is keen to deliver a larger store with a greater number of services to people in Stockport and the unit at Merseyway offered the space required.
"We're hoping that the store will be open to our customers in time for the busy Christmas period and are expecting to have further good news about other new retailers taking space at Merseyway before the year is out."
Tushingham Moore and Savills are the letting agents.
