Spec sheds planned at Logistics North

Harworth Group has announced it will start on site in January with the speculative development of two warehouses at Logistics North in Bolton, totalling 52,000 sq ft.

Harworth will also be building a Costa coffee unit from February 2017, with Costa taking a 15-year lease once construction has completed. The developer said it had sold 10,000 sq ft to Greene King, the pub retailer and brewer, to build a Farmhouse Inn in the New Year.

Aldi is on site with a 19,500 sq ft superstore at the entrance to Logistics North, and is due to complete in summer 2017.

The new units, close to the entrance of the development, will be aimed at occupiers with manufacturing or logistics operations.

Logistics North has planning permission for 4m sq ft of space across 250 acres. The past three years has seen 1.5m sq ft of space already built or under construction, with Aldi completing the construction of its 650,000 sq ft North West distribution headquarters, alongside units for MBDA, Joy Global and Exeter Property Group.
