Spa hotel to open at Ribby Hall in July

A £5m spa and 42-bedroom hotel will be opening at Ribby Hall Village in Lancashire in July this year.

Paul Harrison, managing director of the award-winning Ribby Hall Village, confirmed last week that the development will cover 100 acres.

Ribby Hall is providing investment towards the development which has received funding support from its bank, the Royal Bank of Scotland.

The development will also include 14 treatments rooms, a brasserie and bar, gym and 42 bedrooms including three penthouses and 12 suites.

The adult-only spa and hotel is being designed by Malcolm King, which has worked on hotel projects including The Plaza in New York, Westin Raffles City in Singapore, the Royal Yacht, Hotel and Spa in Jersey, Mango Bay Hotel in Barbados, The Regency InterContinental in Bahrain and the MGM Hotel Casino in Las Vegas, and most recently The Savoy in London.

Harrison said: "This will be a valuable addition to Lancashire's leisure tourism offering, while providing local people who are keen to invest in their personal well-being, a high-end yet affordable day spa facility where they can be assured of superlative customer service. This latest development is an integral element to our overarching vision for Ribby Hall Village as one of the UK's best independent short break, spa and business tourism destinations."

Ribby Hall Village is located in Wrea Green, just outside Blackpool, and provides 175 holiday cottages, six pine lodges and two private properties for larger groups. The first holiday cottage was completed in 1995.
