Smith & Sons brings seafront site to market

Smith & Sons is expecting strong interest from developers in the Travellers Rest former pub in New Brighton which goes under the hammer next Wednesday 25 November.

The Travellers Rest on Marine Promenade is a large seafront property with views over Liverpool Bay. Smith & Sons said it is suitable for a variety of commercial and residential purposes. The guide price is between £240,000 and £260,000.

The auctioneer's final sale of 2009 takes place at the Village Hotel in Bromborough, Wirral. In total, 27 lots will be offered with a number of residential properties requiring refurbishment priced down to reflect the market and the need for some improvement.

Smith & Sons' last auction, held in September, achieved a 90% success rate. Auctioneer Chris Johnson said: "We are seeing a number of regular clients returning to the auction room in view of the relatively low prices. Many of the properties are suitable for letting or selling on following refurbishment and all the guide prices are being set at realistic levels."
