Fashion retailer Skechers USA has signed to open a 3,578 sq ft store on South John Street in Liverpool ONE later this year.
The California-based brand will trade from a unit next to Hollister, Zara and the forthcoming Victoria’s Secret, which opens this summer. Skechers will stock its full product range for men, women and children.
Grosvenor Fund Management said footfall last year exceeded 28 million, a 3% increase on 2014. Sales increased by 8.5% compared to the previous year. Twenty new brands signed at Liverpool ONE in 2015.
Miles Dunnett, director of portfolio management at Grosvenor Fund Management, said: “The signing of Skechers so soon after the start of the year is a great reflection of the awareness of Liverpool ONE’s success amongst leading fashion and lifestyle brands. Skechers’ desire to create a flagship store on South John Street is driven by both the other recent additions to our line-up as well as our sustained growth in 2015. The news is also evidence of our proactive management of Liverpool ONE to deliver the most compelling offer in the region.
“To have also achieved our highest levels of footfall and strongest sales since we opened is fantastic and we are delighted that momentum is being maintained into 2016.”
Liverpool ONE is moving further into the food and beverage market. Roxy Ball Room and Busaba are also making their debuts in the city in Liverpool ONE. Roxy Ball Room is due to open its ping pong and pool concept in early February on College Lane, followed by Busaba and Turtle Bay on Hanover Street.
