Sixtwo secures consent for Bolton schoolhouse conversion
The architect has won planning permission for developer Panda Capital Partners to convert the vacant building in Bradshaw into 14 apartments.
The proposal will see the existing schoolhouse, which was once used by the neighbouring St Maxentius Church, extended and converted into apartments, which range between one and three bedrooms.
There will be minimal interventions in the schoolhouse itself in an attempt to maintain its character; windows will be lengthened while balconies will be added along with roof lights.
The new-build element will provide a circulation core as well as additional units, while upper and lower entrances will be positioned in the void separating the old school and the new build.
Most recently used as a Beefeater restaurant, the building has been redundant for several years.
Glad to see it being reused but that extension is horrid!

This is a fabulous plan and will revert the building to its former glory. 14 individual apartments being available for rent or buy, approximately 10 months from now. A big set back has been regulatory compliance. All clear now so please watch the development with interest.

So glad to see that poor building being renovated. No doubt there will be some complaints about the conversion to apartments but i think it definitely needs some T.L.C. Waiting to see how much the apartments will cost. Would love to buy one if affordable
