Construction of the 16-storey waterfront tower in Liverpool is due to complete in December, with the highest point reached and work underway by contractor Core M to fit the glass façade.
Herculaneum Quay has a circular footprint, with a roof which steps up in a curve from eight storeys to 16.
The building, designed by Edge Architects, will total 119 apartments on completion, with 108 parking spaces.
The developer is Primesite, also currently on site with the office-to-resi conversion of Mersey House on the Strand into 130 apartments.
According to Bobbie Johnson, Primesite’s managing director, 86 of the flats have already sold ahead of completion, with more than half of that to owner-occupiers.
A triplex apartment on the North side of the building is being marketed for around £1.5m, making it one of the most expensive flats in the city.
Herculaneum Quay, previously known as Columbus Quay, is being built near to Chinese restaurant Chung Ku. Dividing the two properties is an unloved section of river bank, which Primesite plans to rejuvenate as part of the project, building a deck area and creating “an urban beach”.
A cycle café is planned for the ground floor unit, tapping into the passing trade along a nearby runner and cyclist route.
