Shortlist named for Lancs asset JV

Lancashire County Council said it expects to pick development partners to take on surplus land and property in the autumn after drawing up a shortlist of contenders.

The council has divided the contest into two lots for east and west. The western lot includes Preston, South Ribble, Chorley Fylde, Wyre, West Lancashire and Blackpool. The eastern lot includes Burnley, Hyndburn, Lancaster, Pendle, Ribble Valley, Rossendale and Blackburn with Darwen.

Competing for both lots are four national consortia:

  • Carillion, with CBRE and Mpulse
  • St Modwen, with Jones Lang LaSalle
  • Balfour Beatty, with Sigma Inpartnership, Neptune Developments and Countryside Properties
  • Morgan Sindall, with subsidiaries Muse Developments, Lovell and Overbury

Eric Wright Group is shortlisted for the west lot.

Nelson-based Barnfield Construction is shortlisted in the east.

The council wants to appoint one or two property partners to deliver ten years of development on publicly owned sites throughout the sub-region.

A final decision is expected in the autumn.
