Shepherd lands another student block

Shepherd Construction has won a £4m design-and-build contract to deliver student accommodation at Arch Bar in Hulme, Manchester for Unite Group.

The five-storey building designed by Halliday Meecham will contain 119 bedrooms for Manchester Metropolitan University students, as well as car parking and cycle storage.

Shepherd is also on site with a £45m tower for mature and overseas students on Great Marlborough Street for Student Castle next to Oxford Road station.

Construction will start on a 50-week programme for Unite this month.
