S&G takes 20,000 sq ft at Speke Approach

Food wholesaler S&G Trading has agreed to occupy Unit 2 at the industrial park in Widnes at a rent of £6 / sq ft.

The 20,036 sq ft unit is located on Wheldon Road, in close proximity to the wider regional motorway network and other transport links.

Speke Approach is a development of warehouses with access off the A561 Speke Road and A5300 Knowsley Expressway. The industrial park is within a 10-minute drive from Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

The unit that S&G Trading has taken features amenities including 40 staff and visitor car parking spaces and quality ground and first floor offices spaces.

Consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton acted as the letting agent on behalf of the unit’s private owner and CBRE was the joint letting agent.

LSH said the letting demonstrates the “strength and resilience of the industrial and logistics market” even amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Guy Jackson, LSH’s director of industrial and logistics, said: “This is a great example of how demand is continuing to rise in the sub 50,000 sq ft bracket for modern industrial units.”

S&G Trading will be relocating from its current, smaller, premises, also in Speke.

Managing director Paul Getty said: “We could see a big ambition to grow our business but needed larger premises to facilitate it.

“We are thrilled to have secured a new tenancy agreement a stone’s throw from our current location, with the help of LSH the transfer has been quick and simple.”
