SF Group takes floor at 9 Portland Street

London & Scottish Investments has agreed the first letting at 9 Portland Street in Manchester city centre following refurbishment.

Recruitment consultant SF Group, part of Dragon's Den star James Caan's Hamilton Bradshaw Group, has taken the whole of the sixth floor totalling 4,377 sq ft on a five-year lease.

Quoting rent at the building, owned by a private discretionary fund managed by London & Scottish Investments, is £15/sq ft.

Since purchasing the property in November 2013, London & Scottish Investments has spent £1m refurbishing the building to provide 55,000 sq ft of office accommodation on six floors.

Anthony Howcroft, associate partner of joint letting agent WHR Property Consultants, said: "The fund recognised the potential that this city centre building has to offer and by refurbishing it throughout, it has enabled it to finally fulfil its true potential as prime office destination. With the letting to SF Group finalised before completion of the works and advanced discussions going on with three other parties, this first investment in the city is proving to be a successful one."

Emma McCarthy, regional director of SF Group in the North West, added: "9 Portland Street provided the perfect location and office environment for our business as we continue to grow within Manchester. The state of the art office has already enabled us to significantly expand our team in the North so we're really looking forward to our future here."

WHR and DTZ are the joint letting agents for 9 Portland Street.
