Seven Bro7hers heads to Liverpool

The brewery is set to open its first pub and taproom in Liverpool after signing up at Elliot Group’s Wolstenholme Square.

Seven Bro7hers will be the first in a series of cafes, restaurants, and bars to open at Wolstenholme Square, with a further five units under offer.

In total, there are 10 commercial units at the development ranging between 474 sq ft and 2,300 sq ft; Seven Bro7hers has combined two units into one to create its latest venture.

The brewery is based in Salford and has taprooms in Ancoats and at Middlewood Locks. It also works with Salford City FC to provide beer on matchdays.

The wider Wolstenholme Square scheme includes 470 apartments, with retail and leisure units lining a pedestrian route between the square and Seel Street. There are also units facing the square, which features the Penelope art installation, which is currently being refurbished.

Elliot Lawless of Elliot Group said: “Right from the outset we said that this was a location for entrepreneurs to come and weave their magic.

“Liverpool is transforming into a city of independents and we can provide them a great home at cost-effective rents.  We’re off to a great start with Seven Bro7hers and I’m looking forward to confirming other tenants shortly.”

CBRE is the letting agent for the units.

In what sense is S37eveN Bro77rether7s5 independent? Isn’t it part-owned by JW Lees? And, in any case, by virtue of opening a second branch, doesn’t it lose its “independent” status?

Not a great scene in Liverpool for beer geeks

Baltic Fleet, Black Lodge and Love Lane are great but there is definitely room for more.

Does Neptune in Maghull count as Liverpool? Their taproom has some of the best beers I’ve tasted anywhere, not just in Liverpool.
