Senior hire for Hodder

Former Herzog & de Meuron man Shane McCamley has joined Hodder + Partners as a senior project architect.

The appointment comes with the Manchester practice engaged on projects including the £200m mixed-use St Michael’s scheme in Manchester city centre and the RHS Garden Bridgewater project, a £30m scheme approved by Salford City Council in 2017.

McCamley, who studied at The University of Manchester, has 15 years’ experience and recently worked on H&Dm’s Stirling Prize-shortlisted Blavatnik School of Government project for Oxford University.

He has also worked on the National Theatre’s temporary theatre project, The Shed, Allies & Morrison’s Lock Keepers residential project, and the Northwest Cambridge & Olympicopolis projects for Stanton Williams.

Hodder + Partners chairman Stephen Hodder said: “It’s fantastic that an architect of Shane’s pedigree is joining us as we continue our journey into 2018. The projects Shane has worked on speak for themselves which is why we believe he will help us further improve our offer across all sectors, including in education, office and residential, transport and heritage.

McCamley, who also previously worked for Stephenson Bell Architects in Manchester, said: “Hodder + Partners is an architectural practice that has long been on my radar due to the quality of work it has produced over more than two decades.

“Manchester is also a city I’m passionate about and I’m looking forward to being involved in a number of significant projects in the city and in other parts of the UK.”
