Segro signs Remploy at Heywood

Remploy, the UK's largest employer of disabled people, has taken space at Segro's Heywood Distribution Park in Rochdale.

Remploy's electronics recycling division has taken unit B2, of 62,000 sq ft. The company is relocating from Segro's Treforest Industrial Estate in South Wales where it surrendered its lease on a smaller premises.

Jane Leedham, senior surveyor at Segro, added: "We have demonstrated the benefit of a wide property base and a flexible approach to customers' needs by retaining Remploy within our portfolio. Our aim to assist existing customers with their constantly evolving business needs is something the company strives for and a goal that has quite clearly been achieved with this letting."

Remploy was represented on the surrender and acquisition by Johnson Controls Real Estate division. Savills and King Sturge are joint agents on Heywood.
