Segro maintains Trafford Park revamp

Industrial landlord Segro has been granted planning consent for a £3m refurbishment of Longwood Park, part of its Trafford Park portfolio.

Local contractor J Mills has been appointed to carry out the work and started on site immediately.

The 342,688 sq ft site is home to ATS Euromaster, Screwfix and Greggs as well as a host of local businesses.

The programme consists of improvement works to two terraces along Longwood Road where units will be updated to modernise their appearance, along with the installation of new roofs and windows. In addition, a number of older units will be demolished to create further yard space and off-road parking for the estate.

Segro will improve security by installing new perimeter fencing and gates to Warren Road and Longwood Road, which will be closed outside of normal business hours. Landscaping will also be improved and the estate will benefit from new, clearer road signage.

There will also be a new development of retail and trade counter space fronting Westinghouse Road, said Hazel Lambert, senior leasing surveyor at Segro.

David Bridges, business unit director at Segro, said: "Since we acquired Brixton, we have made excellent progress enhancing the under-lying quality of our assets in Trafford and this is one more step on that journey."
