Seddon hires social housing lead

Builder and developer Seddon has appointed Paul Hughes as development director for the firm’s housing partnerships division, based in Bolton.

Hughes joined the firm from Emmanuel Whittaker, with previous experience also including 20 years at Bramall Construction where he supported the growth of the North West business from £8m to £120m during his tenure as area director.

He has worked in the housing sector for 30 years, with 25 years seeing him work on public-funded schemes.

Alongside development managers Ian Ridgway and Chris Curtis, who was appointed in September 2015, Hughes will head-up the company’s land-led schemes across the North West, Midlands and North Wales for new and existing social housing clients.

Seddon has offices in Bolton, Birmingham, Stoke and North Wales.

Hughes said: “The firm is well known for its financial stability, commitment to its people and its proud heritage of delivering quality work.

“It is an exciting time to be a part of Seddon as we focus on taking the business to the next level. I look forward to building the portfolio of land-led developments and joint ventures with affordable housing providers across the North West, Midlands and Wales.”
