Seddon appoints new non-exec

Cheshire-based Seddon Group has appointed Neville Richardson, former chief executive of Co-operative Financial Services, as a non-executive director.

Richardson was deputy chief executive of the Co-operative Group, the UK's largest mutual business, before stepping down in mid-2011. He joined the Co-op in 2009 as part of the merger with Britannia Building Society, where he was chief executive.

Seddon Group chairman Rod Sellers said: "Neville brings exceptional strategic and financial expertise and we are delighted to welcome him to our Board. He is set to play an important role in the continuing development of this long-established family business."

Richardson is also a non-executive director of Marks & Spencer Financial Services and is a member of the board of governors of Manchester University.
