Seaford hires MD for loans business

The real estate debt consultancy has appointed Jon Warman as managing director of loan origination and execution.

Warman joins from Spring11, a company that provides commercial real estate due diligence, asset valuation and underwriting services, where he spent five years as co-head of the European real estate advisory business.

In his role at Seaford Finance, Warman will help to grow the Prestwich-based business across the UK and Europe.

With a degree in property investment and finance from the University of Reading, Warman has 12 years’ industry experience and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

During his career, Jon has worked on aspects of the real estate lending process, including asset and loan underwriting for large institutions to loan workouts, restructuring, distressed debt investing, special servicing and debt origination.

Prior to working at Spring11, he was a director in LNR Europe’s investment management and NPL (non-performing loans) advisory division, where he was responsible for underwriting more than £70bn of NPL transactions.

Morris Rothbart, Founder and Managing Partner at Seaford Finance, said: “This is an important strategic hire for Seaford Finance as we look to increase the scale of the business and provide our clients with access to an even broader range of debt financing.

“As a result of the impact Covid-19 is having on the real estate market, we are seeing heightened demand for debt across several sectors, including development funding within the leisure and build-to-rent/PRS sectors.”

Warman added: “Seaford Finance combines exceptional reach within the real estate lending community with creativity and a drive to find the best solution for each client and project.”
