Scottish law firm expands regional office
Law firm Semple Fraser has recruited Kathryn Jump and Lisa Tye from DWF as directors in its planning group.
Semple Fraser opened its Manchester office last year to add to its Glasgow and Edinburgh bases.
Both Tye and Jump began their careers in local government before moving into private practice.
Semple Fraser’s planning group has already expanded this year, with Sarah Baillie, joining the firm in April this year.
The company has 12 staff in Manchester, supported by a further 140 in the Glasgow and Edinburgh offices.
The sectors focused on are real estate, construction, finance, waste, renewables and energy, life sciences and digital economy.
Semple Fraser’s planning clients include Tesco, JJ Gallagher, Ayrshire Power, Standard Life and Standard Commercial.
Jump said: “The specialist and industry-focused approach at Semple Fraser is highly distinctive and very appealing.”
Tye added: “It’s an exciting time to be here as the firm develops its Manchester offering and also as the Government announces its amendment to the Planning Act and opens the public consultation.”
