Scorah leaves OBI to set up own practice

Gary ScorahGary Scorah, senior director at OBI Property, has departed the Manchester-based consultancy to establish his own company, Commercial Properties.

Scorah was a founding member of OBI Property in 2010, and moved into a consultancy role at the end of last year. His new company, Commercial Properties, based in Hewitt Street, Manchester, will specialise in real estate investment and development practice.

He said: "Leaving OBI means that I have more freedom on the investment side, but I will still be using the services of OBI going forwards for office agency and building consultancy. My focus with Commercial Properties is investment but also standing shoulder to shoulder with a client on deciding the best team for their property and how to maximise value.

"I'm looking at properties in a range of locations, from Belfast, London, Leeds, and Israel, and will also be focusing on acting for overseas high net-worth individuals and putting Manchester on their radar."

Scorah left WHR Property Consultants alongside Will Lewis and Dominic Horridge in 2010 to establish OBI Property. At the time OBI said that its name represented the three specialisms of its founders; office agency, building consultancy and investment.

OBI director Will Lewis said investment remains a fundamental part of its business. Lewis said: "We have really enjoyed working with Gary for a number of years, and wish him the best of luck in the future."

More freedon on the investment side? that is what he was doing at OBI. More than this than meets the eye.
