HOW Planning has successfully secured full planning permission on behalf of Sanguine Hospitality for the expansion of the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, formerly known as Hoole Hall, in Chester.
The four-star hotel complex in the Green Belt contains 140 bedrooms, a spa and restaurant centred around the listed manor house and landscaped gardens. The plans are to add 85 bedrooms, improve the restaurant and business function rooms, car parking and reception.
Due to the site's Green Belt location the application was passed to the National Planning Casework Unit and following a positive response, Cheshire West & Chester Council has granted planning permission.
Conor Vallelly, principal planner at HOW Planning, said: "Demonstrating compliance with the strict terms of Green Belt policy was fundamental in achieving this planning approval. The significant investment proposed by the hotel is a major vote of confidence in Chester and will help to boost the local tourism industry which is of such importance to city. The scheme is a sustainable one and will lead to the creation of an additional 50 full time jobs and apprenticeships as well as delivering major landscape improvements."
