San Carlo confirms St Peter’s Square opening

Fumo, part of the San Carlo restaurant group, has agreed a 20-year lease for 5,500 sq ft at Argent and the Greater Manchester Property Venture Fund's One St Peter's Square in Manchester.

The long-rumoured letting, which Argent says set a new benchmark for rentals in this area of the city, leaves 6,000 sq ft of leisure and retail space available on the ground floor.

The One St Peter's Square venue will be the second and largest Fumo in the UK, after Birmingham. The restaurant will occupy part of the ground and first floors. Tables will also be available on an external dining terrace. Fumo is described by San Carlo as a "cocktail bar, all day restaurant and late lounge".

Fiting out the new restaurant will start in July, with opening planned for November 2014.

One St Peter's Square is a 268,000 sq ft office building situated in Manchester city centre. KPMG agreed a pre-let for the top three floors comprising 62,500 sq ft, which it will occupy in the autumn.
