Salford Digital Village on site

Capital & Centric has started construction at Digital Village, its public realm and business park project facing Ordsall Hall.

The site was acquired from Salford City Council. C&C is to deliver 45,000 sq ft of new build business units and offices offering energy efficient workspace. The public boulevard running through the centre of the development will link the Ship Canal to the grade one-listed Ordsall Hall.

Digital VillageThe project has been part funded by the European Regional Development Fund providing around £1.1m of investment.

Williams Tarr has been awarded the £1.7m construction contract. The development is expected to be completed by August 2015.

Tim Heatley, co-founder of Capital & Centric said: "We're excited to be on site in Salford, Digital Village will not only provide efficient work space but will also complement its surroundings on Ordsall Lane including the beautiful Ordsall Hall through improved access and overall really great design. This development is the first scheme that we're delivering in my home city of Salford, making it very close to my heart."

The scheme was designed by SixTwo Architects.
