Sales of £1.5m at Smith & Sons

Smith & Sons sold 17 out of 25 lots at its latest auction in Bromborough, with a range of commercial and residential properties on offer.

A large semi-detached Victorian home in Oxton sold for £267,000. Smith & Sons said fierce bidding took place for smaller terraces and semi-detached houses, with investors and builders keen to secure properties with potential value following upgrade and modernisation.

All commercial lots sold and properties with commercial units at ground floor level with living accommodation above proved popular.

Chris Johnson, auctioneer at Smith and Sons said: "This September auction is traditionally quiet as people are just returning from the summer holidays and getting back to work, however, we have been pleasantly surprised by the result. A high percentage of properties sold and once again we've achieved a strong sales figure.

"We're already taking lots for out next auction in December which we believe will be particularly strong as confidence in the property market continues to grow."
