Runways UK regional event next month

Manchester is hosting a free-to-attend half-day event in December about the future of airports in the UK.

The event, organised by Runways UK, is set to feature presentations from Sir Howard Davies, chairman of the Airports Commission, updating attendees on the commission's work to date. He will also speak about the consultation on its three shortlisted options for additional capacity in the South East and how this affects the regions.

Also on the programme are Cllr Sir Richard Leese, leader of Manchester City Council and chairman of the cabinet of Core Cities UK; Charlie Cornish, group chief executive of Manchester Airports Group, and David Laws, chief executive of Newcastle International Airport; and Andrew Lobbenberg, head of the European transport team at HSBC.

The event is due to take place from 1.15pm to 6pm on 2 December at The Concorde Conference Centre is located at: The Runway Visitor Park, Sunbank Lane, Altrincham, WA15 8XQ.
