RSK adds three to transport team

The environmental consultancy firm has hired Sarah van de Berg, Graham Walker, and Harriet Wingfield in September to its Hilton Street office in Manchester, bringing the transport team up to seven.

Van de Berg joined as senior transport planner after 10 months as business analyst and coordinator for Wigan Council. Before this she was senior travel planner at Motion Consultants from April 2014 until 2015. Her experience includes working on the Brighton Marina residential development and past clients include Electronic Arts and Allianz Insurance. Van de Berg will be responsible for developing travel plans for large businesses across the region.

Walker joined as senior transport engineer from Waterman Group where he spent three decades in transport planning and design. Past projects include the Oxford Road and Portland Street bus and cycle priority package. Walker will prepare engineering drawings and highway consents for detailed approval.

Wingfield is a graduate transport planner from the University of Birmingham. Specific responsibilities include focussing on the use of technology and assisting on energy-related projects.

RSK’s transport team provided support to Cheshire East Council for the recently completed waste hub in Middlewich, and from this has been commissioned to explore options for Crewe market hall. Other projects include Doune health centre in Scotland and work for nationwide Euro Garages schemes.

Transport planning team leader Ian Wickett said: “The transport planning team is eager to continue its growth with Sarah and Graham’s skills and to have Harriet join our training programme.”

Other transport team appointments from this year include Gavin Snowball, Natalie Ternent and Miguel Quental, who all joined in May. The hires bring the total staff in the Manchester office to 45, and the positions are a mixture of new roles and hiring replacement members of staff.
