Royal Mail sorted for Ardwick

Landlord PKPS has let a 20,900 sq ft industrial unit in Ardwick, Manchester, to Royal Mail to handle city centre postal deliveries.

Royal Mail has taken the unit on a 15-year lease at a rental of £5.13/sq ft and will use the premises to house an additional sorting office, retaining its original premises on Oldham Road and Piccadilly Trading Estate.

The unit is situated at 40 Higher Ardwick, one mile to the south east of Manchester city centre, and was refurbished last year by Introbuild.

Andrew Johnson, surveyor at letting agent Knight Frank, commented: "Almost from the day the refurbishment was completed in July last year, we received a consistent level of enquiries."

Mike Rooney of WHR Property Consultants advised Royal Mail.
